The Search for a bike!

Once upon a time in Denmark in the town called Odense (this starts really like a fairy tale doesn’t it), there was a boy who just arrived in Denmark for his study and just like in the Netherlands there is a real biking atmosphere. So he had to search for a bike. Going to bike stores to check out second hand bikes that had a price tag of like 650DKK approximate 87 euro’s but in very bad condition, so instead of looking at the expensive bike stores with there over priced bad condition bikes he turned to a social media center called Facebook. Facebook is not a book that has faces in it, but it is an internet based social media platform that is used by lots of people these days (I use it now for 2 years and I am bored of it). So he looked at some pages where people where selling bikes and other second hand stuff and after finding some bikes with a price tag of also around 600 – 800 he checked some of them out. Of course as expected these bikes where also not in a condition to bike on. Gears not working, or breaks not working or the pedal axis damaged. So the boy extended his price range to 900dkk and found a decent bike. He went to look for it and bought it for 850, including a damaged lock (Theft in Denmark is pretty high) and a tool. So now the boy is in the middle of nowhere somewhere in the town of Odense in Denmark. But technology provides the solution he takes out his cellphone (it’s a so called smartphone), startup google maps (it is an application made by Google, one of the biggest privacy violators in the world) and checked his way back home. So now he started cycling back and found his way back. He noticed he had to fix the brakes but he did not want to do it the same day.

The following morning he started cleaning and fixing his bike and after that was all done his breaks where working, the chain was almost oil free, the gears that where over lubricated where cleaned as much as possible and so he had a bike that was ready to be used. After that he made a picture of the bike and here it is.

Once upon a time in Denemarken in een dorp genaamd Odense (De start is een beetje al seen sprookje niet waar), was een jongen die zojuist gearriveerd was in Denemarken voor zijn studie en net als in Nederland is er een echte fiets sfeer. En zo ging de jongen op zoek naar een fiets. Hij ging naar fiets winkels om tweede hands fietsen te zoeken, maar deze fietsen hadden al snel een prijskaartje van 650DKK of te wel ongeveer 87 euro echter waren de fietsen in zeer slechte kwaliteit. Dus in plaats van het zoeken naar een fiets in de dure fiets winkels met hun te duren en slechte kwaliteit fietsen en zo ging hij zoeken op het sociaal media platform genaamd facebook. Facebook is geen boek met veel gezichten, maar het is een internet gebaseerd sociaal media platform dat wordt gebruikt door veel mensen (Ik gebruik het voor zo’n twee jaar nu en ben het eigenlijk wel zat).
